This Privacy Policy explains what information Crest Industrial Chemicals collects through its website, how that information is used and shared, and the choices you have.
About this policy
Crest Industrial Chemicals, Inc. (“Crest,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a specialty chemical blender located at 1737 County Road 57, Rosharon, Texas 77583. This Privacy Policy applies to our website at crestchemicals.com, including its product pages, technical library, specification search, quote request form, and news and events subscription (together, the “Website”).
The Website is intended for businesses and professionals who buy, specify, or use industrial chemical products. It is not intended for household consumers or for children.
This policy does not cover information we collect outside the Website — for example, through purchase orders, invoices, credit applications, or phone calls — which we handle under our ordinary business practices and applicable law. It also does not apply to other websites we link to.
Information you give us
You can browse the Website and open technical data sheets without giving us any personal information. We collect information only when you choose to send it to us.
- Quote and information requests. When you use our request form, we collect your name, company, email address, and phone number, together with the product you are asking about, your application, the material being treated, and any details you add.
- News and events emails. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and the topics you choose, and we record whether you have confirmed your subscription.
- Direct contact. If you call or email us, we receive the information you share, such as your name, contact details, and the content of your message.
Please do not send sensitive personal information — such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or health information — through the Website. We do not need it to answer a product or quote request.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours receives some technical information automatically when you visit.
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider records standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time. These records are used to deliver the Website, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.
- Spam and abuse protection. To stop automated or repeated form submissions, we limit how often a form can be sent from the same network connection. We do this with a one-way coded value derived from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored in our database. Submissions are also checked automatically for common signs of spam.
- Fonts. The Website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google’s servers to fetch them, which shares your IP address and browser information with Google.
Analytics. We may also collect information about how the Website is used, as described under “Analytics” below.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how the Website is used — for example, which pages and data sheets are viewed, how visitors arrive, the type of device and browser used, and an approximate location at the city or region level. We use this information in aggregate to improve the Website.
Google Analytics uses the cookies listed above. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We do not turn on Google’s advertising features, we do not use analytics data for targeted advertising, we do not combine it with information you send through our forms, and we keep analytics data for no longer than 14 months.
You can stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. To learn how Google handles this information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to quote requests and questions, and follow up about the products you asked about;
- recommend or formulate products for your process and provide technical support;
- send the news and events emails you subscribed to;
- keep business records of inquiries, quotes, and customer relationships;
- operate, secure, and improve the Website, including preventing spam, fraud, and misuse; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.
We do not sell personal information
Crest does not sell personal information, does not share it for targeted advertising, and does not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Emails and your choices
- News and events emails are sent only after you confirm your subscription by clicking the link we email you. Every one includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you.
- Replies to your requests, such as a confirmation that we received your quote request, are part of handling what you asked for and are not marketing.
- Updating or deleting information. You can ask us to correct or delete the information you gave us by contacting us as described below.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including legal, tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements.
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Quote and information requests | As long as needed to respond and to maintain our sales and customer records, and as required for business and tax records |
| News and events subscription | Until you unsubscribe; we then keep a record that you unsubscribed so we continue to honor it |
| Spam-protection counters | These contain only one-way coded values, never IP addresses, and are used only to limit repeated submissions |
| Hosting provider logs | According to Google Cloud’s standard log retention |
| Analytics data, when enabled | No longer than 14 months |
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. The Website is served only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Access to submitted information is limited to authorized Crest staff with individual accounts and role-based permissions, and administrative actions are logged.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Your privacy rights
Whatever state you live in, you may ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time and within any period the law requires.
Texas residents. To the extent the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act applies to Crest, Texas residents have the right to:
- confirm whether we process their personal data and access it;
- correct inaccuracies in their personal data;
- delete personal data they provided or that we obtained about them;
- obtain a copy of their personal data in a portable format; and
- opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. As stated above, Crest does none of these.
Residents of other states. Residents of other states, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Utah, and Virginia, may have similar rights under their state laws, to the extent those laws apply to Crest.
How to make a request. Email crest@crestchemicals.com or call (800) 622-9006. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will ask only for the information needed to do so. Where the law allows, you may use an authorized agent. We respond within 45 days and may extend that once by another 45 days when reasonably necessary; if we do, we will tell you why.
Appeals. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by emailing crest@crestchemicals.com with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal within 60 days. If we deny your appeal, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.
No discrimination. We will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
Global Privacy Control. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of those activities.
Children’s privacy
The Website is intended for adults acting for businesses. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where information is processed
Crest is located in the United States, and the Website’s data is stored in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.
Links to other websites
The Website links to other sites, such as industry associations and calendar services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
